Implementation of Disaster Management Policy in Padang Panjang City in 2022

Abstract

Padang Panjang City is a small city that is very prone to disasters. In this regard, the government of Padang Panjang City established Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2016 concerning Disaster Management for Padang Panjang City, which was further regulated in Padang Panjang Mayor Regulation Number 49 of 2020 concerning instructions for the implementation of Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2016. The purpose of this research is to find out how far along the implementation of disaster management policies in the city of Padang Panjang is. This study used qualitative research methods. Informant selection technique using purposeful sampling obtained from interviews. The research results from the implementation of disaster management policies in Padang Panjang City in 2022 can be said to be quite good but not completely perfect. The implementation of socialization budgeted by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (RDMA), Kesbangpol Kota Padang Panjang, is quite minimal, and the resources they have are still inadequate, especially in terms of infrastructure that has not been optimally fulfilled. For this reason, it is hoped that the Padang Panjang City Government can increase socialization and training for the community directly from the Kesbangpol BPBD agency on an ongoing basis and increase resources such as infrastructure so that disaster management in Padang Panjang City will be better in the future.
